Mary Sue Armatas, 89, of Titusville, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Mary Sue was born in Port Arthur, TX, on May 18, 1936, to the late Charles W. and Emmeline E. Smith Shaver. She married Carl Klingler in July of 1957. He preceded her in death in December 1966. She later married James S. Armatas, Sr., on October 12, 1968, at the Hydetown Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2014.
She was a graduate of Colestock High School, Class of 1954.
Mary Sue began her career at the candy counter of GC Murphy Co. After completing her education, she worked at General Telephone Co. in Corry and Titusville until 1970. She spent many years as a representative for Avon and eventually served as the office manager at Oil Creek Manufacturing until her retirement.
She was a member of the Titusville First Methodist Church. She served in Delta Alphas, taught Sunday School and Youth Club, worked at funeral dinners, and was a counselor.
Mary Sue enjoyed traveling, camping, family vacations, and spending summers at Canadohta Lake. She loved her family and the time she got to spend with them.
She is survived by her four children, Daniel Klingler of Townville, Deanna Roggenkamp and husband Rick of Myrtle Beach, SC, Denise Warner and husband Jerry of Titusville, James S. Armatas, Jr. and wife Mindy of Titusville; 13 grandchildren, Meagan Dalton of Townville, Danielle Garcia and husband Nick of Venango, Benjamin Klingler and wife Jenny of Townville, JC Bienio and wife Rhonda of Townville, Ryan Bienio of Minot, ND, Victoria Lowery and husband Darrell of South Carolina, Andrew Bienio and wife Kelly of Butler, Justin Warner and husband James Huff of Titusville, Ashleigh Kenyon of Titusville, Josh Warner of Titusville, Ashley Wesley and husband Michael of Titusville, James S. Armatas III of Titusville, Lisa Nichols of Titusville; great grandchildren, Madyson Banik, Reese Hlopick, Ricky Bienio and wife Josie, Camron Bienio, Ava Lowery, Mason Bienio, Rhea Huff-Warner, Makaia Yunik, Kailea Nichols, Lydia Nichols, Elliana Nichols, Easton Lowry, Madelyn Wesley, Charles Wesley, Addison Wesley, and Ares Garcia; and several great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Homan and husband Scott; and brother Charles Shaver and wife Laura of Townville.
Preceded in death by two great-grandsons, Kai Yunik and James B. Huff-Warner, Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Tuesday, May 27th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Jerome Alsdorf officiating.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
