Mary B. Lay, 80, formerly of Spartansburg, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Rouse Estates in Youngsville.
Mary was born in Mansfield, OH, on January 21, 1945, to the late Joseph and Margaret McLaughlin Laibach.
She was a graduate of Spartansburg High School, Class of 1963.
Mary worked as a veterinary technician at Titusville Veterinary Clinic. She also owned and operated Lays Antiques in Spartansburg and worked at Ethan Allen Furniture in Union City. Additionally, she spent several years as a nurse's aide, caring for elderly patients until her retirement.
She was affiliated with the American Kennel Club, where she raised and showed highly accomplished Irish Setters.
She was a member of the Midway Alliance Church, where she served as Youth Leader and Craft Leader for Vacation Bible School.
Mary is survived by her sister, Alice Lindsey of Spartansburg; her sister-in-law, Dreama Laibach; and five nieces and nephews, Brenda, Loretta, Wayne, Megan, and Michelle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Holland, and her brother, Edward Laibach.
Visitation will be held at the Midway Alliance Church 6330 Oil Creek Rd. Spartansburg, PA 16434 on Thursday, from 4 to 5 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Eric Swartzbaugh, officiating.
Interment will be at East Branch Cemetery.
