Michael J. Kerr, 65 of Titusville passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Mike was born on October 3, 1957, to the late John H. and Norma Brown Kerr Cole. He married Agnes Sagan on May 6, 1981. He was a 1976 graduate of Titusville High School. While in high school he was active on the cross country and track teams. He was a member of the 73-74 District X Championship Cross Country and Track teams and the 1976 Section II Championship Track team. He was affectionally nicknamed "Crazy Legs Kerr" by his teammates in appreciation of his unique running style.
In his early years, having been born and raised on a dairy farm, Mike worked as a farmhand in the Bethel Community. He entered the Navy for a brief time and then attended Williamsport Community College. Mike worked several years for the Titusville Area School as a custodian, then worked as a clerk for the Titusville Bargain Store. He was most recently employed at Pasquale's Restaurant and delivered newspapers part-time.
Mike was a warm and caring person. He was kind to those who were less fortunate than him. Mike enjoyed sports. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed trading barbs with those who were fans of any Pittsburgh sports team.
Surviving are his two sons: Nicholas J. Kerr, (partner Marsha) of Kansas City, MO., Jeremy S. Kerr (wife Angie) of Titusville, PA; and former wife Agnes Kightlinger. Also surviving are Grandchildren Chase Harrison and Ethan Roberts, Brothers Terry L. Kerr, of Titusville, PA (wife Terry Lynne), Randy J. Kerr of Brookville, PA (wife Paula), Joseph P. Kerr of York, PA, and David H. Kerr, (wife Lauri) of Beechwood, OH.
Nephews and Nieces surviving are Shawn P. Kerr (wife Kristen) of Titusville, PA., Dustin R. Kerr, (fiancé Kaitlin) of Asheboro, NC, Elizabeth T. Kerr (partner Ethan) of Philadelphia, PA; Alexander J. Kerr (wife Kristina) of San Antonio, TX and Sebastian D. Kerr (wife Sara) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Evan Hanson (wife Kat) of Wyncote, PA and Taylor Dezelan (husband Derek) of Brookville, PA., Alexis B. Kerr and Riley K. Parke of Beechwood, OH; nine great nieces and nephews; and close friend David Mccauley of Pleasantville.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday, September 1st from 11:00 a.m. to noon at which time a memorial service will be conducted with Rev. Erwin Kerr, officiating.
Inurnment will be at Union Cemetery.
