Michael "Mike" R. Rose, 72, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after an extended and heroic battle with cancer.
Mike was born on April 11, 1953, in Titusville to the late Tony and Viola Johnson Rose. He married Melody Bogardus on September 9, 2006, in Titusville.
Mike attended Titusville schools.
He had a variety of jobs throughout his life, but one of his favorites was being a hunting and fishing guide in Montana. Another favorite was creating and selling unique chainsaw bear carvings, capturing personality in each one he carved. And since 2012, he found joy in operating heavy equipment for Wencil Excavating, where his expertise and dedication were highly valued and appreciated among many foresters.
Mike, a member of Grace Fellowship Church, was a man with a deep faith in God who cherished his family, serving as their rock. He was a selfless man, always ready and willing to help others. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. Mike loved to work and stay active, sitting still was simply not an option for him. He had a special bond with his dogs, Bella and Buddy. He loved to take them on numerous walks and car drives and often snuck them a few too many treats. He will be missed deeply by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
