Myrl "Tuck" Davis Obituary

Myrl R. "Tuck" Davis, 68, of Titusville, passed away on June 6th, 2026.

Tuck was born in Tallahassee, FL, on July 21, 1957, to the late Ellis and Madlyn Wertz Davis. Following the death of Ellis Davis in 1960, Madlyn returned to the Tionesta, PA area with Tuck to be near her family.

Tuck attended school in the Tionesta area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing from a young age. In his early teens, Tuck began working as much as possible to help support his mother. He later attended college classes at Liberty University.

He married Joanne Anderson on August 2, 1980. That same year, he opened the Titusville Radiator and Battery shop, which he ran for over 10 years. In 1990, he founded Davis Machine and Welding, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2018.

Tuck was a gifted guitar player and musician. He performed at many area events and community gatherings over the years, often setting up the sound systems as well. His first performing experience was with "The Good News Team". He later co-founded the band "Friar Tuck" and performed guitar and vocals.

He is survived by Joanne and their two daughters, Danielle Davis Gurwell and husband Mike Gurwell of Des Moines, Iowa, Leeci Davis, fiancé Kamaha'o Ka'aihili, and son Leo of Salem, Oregon, and close friend/adoptive son Rory Wilson and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale McWilliams.

Family and friends can attend a graveside service on Tuesday, June 9th, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville.
