Naomi G. Popeney

Naomi G. Popeney, 89, of Titusville, passed away Friday morning November 24, 2023 at the Titusville Area Hospital following an extended illness.

Naomi was born on October 10, 1934 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Clarence and Fay Garner Irwin. She was married to Robert H. Popeney on June 28, 1952 in Titusville. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2013.

Naomi was a graduate of Colestock High School. She worked as an LPN at the Titusville Area Hospital from where she retired.

Naomi was a member of St. Titus Church. She enjoyed her flower gardens and working outside at her home.

Naomi is survived by her sons, Robert I. Popeney, James D. Popeney, and Vance L. Popeney, all of Titusville; a grandson, Vaughn Popeney; one great grandchild; two brothers, Paul Irwin and wife Barbara of York, PA and H. Lee Irwin and wife Darla of Grovetown, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorie Dowling Wescoat and Louise Magee; and a brother, James Irwin.

No public viewing will be observed.

Family and friends may attend a committal service on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Catharines Cemetery Chapel.
