Peter T Weis

Peter T. Weis, 79, of Titusville, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness.

Pete was born on October 10, 1945, in Middle Village, NY, to the late Peter J. and Mary Halpen Weis. He married Barbara Bergstrom on July 7, 1973, at St. Margaret Church in Middle Village, NY.

He was veteran having served in the United States Army. He entered the service on December 13, 1965, in Brooklyn, NY, and was honorable discharged on November 24, 1967, at Ft. Dix, NJ, with the rank of E4.

Pete worked for 20 years for New York City Sanitation.

He was a member and past president of the Bonsai Society of Great New York.

He enjoyed caring for his homing pigeons, hiking beautiful trails, camping, and watching NASCAR and boxing. He had a considerable interest in the Mafia, which was shown in the books and in the shows he liked. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

Pete is survived by his wife, Barbara of Titusville; four children, Paula Hebets of Titusville, Peter John Weis of Titusville, Dawn Rumbaugh and husband Brad Rumbaugh II of Pleasantville, and Paul Weis and wife Rachel of Centerville; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernard Weis and wife Maureen of Palm Coast, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Ash and Patricia McKown.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Friday from 11 to 1 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be conducted with pastor Fred Frye, officiating.

Full military rites will be observed.

Interment will be at Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
