Rebecca J. "Becky" Jordan, 91, of Meadville, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
Becky was born on September 16, 1932, in Meadville to the late Kenneth and Pearl Lobaugh Miller. She was married to Joseph L. Jordan who preceded her in death on February 4, 1999.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School, Class of 1950.
Becky worked for over 40 years in various roles for Crawford County, including the office of Congressman Marc Marks and as deputy to the Register and Recorder of Deeds. In 1996 she was elected as the Register and Recorder of Deeds where she served until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of Meadville First Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was a participant of the Joy Circle.
In addition to her involvement in the church, Becky was a devoted member of the Crawford County Republican Party. As a committee woman, she played a vital role in supporting the party's initiatives and activities. With her passion for making a difference, she volunteered countless hours, helping to organize events, fundraisers, and dinners.
Becky had an infectious zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She had an adventurous spirit that led her to travel and explore new places. She selflessly devoted her time and attention to her loved ones. Her warmth and compassion made her a beloved friend to many, and she had a remarkable knack for making friends wherever she went. Becky was a shining example of generosity, not only in terms of material possessions but also with her time and energy. She had a big heart that tirelessly gave to those in need.
She is survived by her four children, Michael Jordan and wife Joy of Meadville, James Jordan and wife Debra of Meadville, Patricia Wetherbee and husband Kevin of Guys Mills, and Timothy Jordan and wife Jessica of York, SC; eight grandchildren, James Jordan of Meadville, Joseph Jordan and wife Jamie of Conneaut Lake, Christopher Jordan and wife Holly of Meadville, Corey Jordan and wife Brittany of Guys Mills, Jordan Anderson and husband Joseph of Titusville, Tyler Wetherbee and wife Kylie of Berwick, PA, and Malachi Jordan and Joseph Reese Jordan of York SC; 9 great grandchildren; a sister Roberta Elder of Sandy Lake; her brother Gary Miller and wife June of Yucca Valley, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Miller; and a brother in law Harry Elder.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16th at Meadville First Presbyterian Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Dr. Daniel Corll, officiating.
Interment will be at Greendale Cemetery.
