Richard "Rick" P. Blackford, 63, of Titusville, passed away on October 11, 2024, unexpectedly at his residence.
Rick was born on May 5, 1961, in Erie, a son of the late James and Betty Cousins.
He attended Titusville Area Schools.
In his youth, Rick worked on an oil rig in Oklahoma and was a construction worker for a brief time. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department and West Hickory Volunteer Fire Department.
Rick was a member of the Titusville American Legion Post 368.
Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on cars and engines, listening to Elvis Presley, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his sons; James Blackford of Titusville, and Donald Blackford of Franklin; his companion, Martha Ginnery and her children Chloe and Dylan Dana; his niece, Carina Richardson and husband Joseph of Spartansburg, and their children Xaidan Singleton, Amber Richardson and Dixie Proper; his nephews, Cody McClintock of Titusville, Alex Tucker and Milo Tucker of Titusville and Joseph Tucker of Tennessee; and his best friend, Ben Walters of Titusville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Deborah A. Blackford on March 31, 2010, and his pet companion Duke the dog.
A memorial service and benefit dinner will be held at a later date.
