Richard Turner Obituary

Richard A. "Dick" Turner, 69, of Pleasantville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Titusville Area Hospital.

Dick was born on January 13, 1953, in Titusville to the late William W. and Esther Hough Turner. He married Anne J. Beck on June 9, 1973, at St. Titus Church.

He was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1971.

Dick worked Hasbrouck's Sand and Gravel for almost 40 years as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineer's Local 66B.

Dick was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, trapping, and going elk hunting in Colorado with his "brothers" the Wescoat boys. He enjoyed watching NASCAR when Mark Martin raced and was a Steelers fan. His love and devotion to his family was foremost in his life.

Dick is survived by his wife Anne of Pleasantville; four children, Jennifer Gossett and husband Ashley of Spartanburg, SC, Leslie Kutney and husband Chris of Northampton, PA, David Turner and wife Renee of Titusville, and Douglas Turner of Titusville; six grandchildren, William Porter and Lauren Gossett, of Spartanburg, SC, Samuel and Evan Kutney of Northampton, PA, Ryan and Claire Turner of Titusville; a close friend Ronald Kustra of North Huntington, PA; several brothers and sisters in law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William ‶Bill″ John, Ronald ‶Crud″, and Jerry L. "Dink" Turner.

Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Monday, January 16th from 1 to 3 p.m. A celebration of life for Dick will be held also on Monday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pleasantville Vol. Fire Dept. with a meal provided.

Interment will be at Tubbs Cemetery at a later date.
