Richard M. Winger

Richard M. “Rick” Winger, 75, of Titusville, passed away Thursday afternoon August 10, 2023 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca surrounded by his family.

Rick was born on April 24, 1948 in Grove City, PA, a son of the late John and Viola Hannah Winger. He was married to Catherine Vincent on August 20, 1983 in Hydetown.

Rick was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1966. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict at Cam Rahn Bay in 1968.

Rick had worked at the former Polk Center as a residential aide for a number of years. He was also employed at the former Sears store  in Cranberry following his retirement from Polk Center.

Rick was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW. He enjoyed collecting miniature antique model cars, hunting and fishing.

Rick is survived by his wife Catherine of Titusville; children, Michael Winger of Titusville, Sara Nichols and companion George Sherwood of Pleasantville, Shawn Nichols of Erie, Shelly, Stacey and Ronnie Winger; grandchildren, Anthony Wright, Gavin, Madison and Adalyn Nichols, and Kane Sherwood; a sister, Terri Wittreich of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews which include Dillon Vincent, Garret Vincent and wife Kate, Corey and Carrie Vincent.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a grandson, Brantley Sherwood.

Private services will be conducted for the family. Interment will be in Neilltown Cemetery. The family asks that memorials may be made to the Titusville Area Food Bank 134 W. Central Ave. Titusville, PA   16354.
