Roland B. "Ron" Marsh, 79, of Titusville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
Ron was born in Titusville, on December 26, 1945, a son of the late Donald Marsh and Stella McGraw Marsh Carabell. He married Linda Simonds Marsh on July 26, 2002, in St. Louis, MO.
He was a graduate of the former Saint Joseph Academy in Titusville, Class of 1964. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served four years in the Vietnam War. After his time in Vietnam, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserve and retired in 2005 after 36 years, with the rank of Master Chief.
After his time overseas, he returned to school where he obtained his bachelor's degree from Memphis State University in 1977. He continued his education at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, where he studied to become a radiologist.
Ron worked as a radiology technician at Saint Joseph Hospital in St. Louis, MO, for over 40 years before retiring in 2009.
He was a member of the Titusville Moose Lodge #84, the VFW 5958 Bruce Shorts Post, American Legion Post 368, Titusville Elks Lodge #264, and the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree knight.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors, he had a love for deer hunting. In his youth he enjoyed playing basketball for the Navy, as well as boxing. He also had a love for classic Corvette cars as well as 60s and 70s rock-n-roll.
Friends and family described Ron as "someone who always made you laugh." His positive attitude and sense of humor made it impossible to be around him without smiling. He was a loving husband and father, and his faith played a central role in his life.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Linda Marsh of Titusville; his two daughters, Deena Conway and husband Bobby of St. Charles, MO, and Dr. Megan Marsh and companion Tylor Butzin of Fort Wayne, IN; his grandson, Evan Conway and companion Sarah Shearrer of Arnold, MO; and great grandson, Rowan Conway; his aunt, Patricia McGraw of Titusville; 7 cousins; and his beloved animals, Ginger the dog and Studly The Cat.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra J. Maness of St. Louis, MO, and his beloved dog Brandy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 1:30 PM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Daniel Hoffman as celebrant.
