Rosalyn Parker Obituary

Rosalyn L. Parker, 77, of Titusville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 3, 2024 while visiting her family in Tampa, Florida.

Rosalyn was born on December 8, 1946 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Roger and Mary “Polly” Girard Ricke.

Rosalyn was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1964. She had attended the University of Pittsburgh in Titusville where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree, which she used for many years until her retirement.

She attended many art classes and seminars as an accomplished artist and had been awarded many first places in art competitions.

Rosalyn had served as the Director of the Arts Council for many years as well. She was most proud of being selected as an intern for Walt Disney and eventually being hired as an artist/animator working on several projects. Rosalyn had been selected as senior citizen of the year in 2017 by the Titusville Chamber of Commerce.

Rosalyn was also well known for being the beverage manager at Cross Creek Resort for a number of years.

Rosalyn is survived by her grandchildren, Bradley Parker of Milwaukee, WI, Philip Parker of Houma, LA, and Mackenzie Parker, stationed with the US Navy; two brothers, Steven Ricke and wife Shelly, and Clark Ricke and wife Patricia, all of Tampa, FL; a son-in-law, Paul Hazeltine of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, James A. Parker and Julie Parker-Hazeltine; a sister, Mary Lynda Madden; and a beloved uncle, Hamilton “Jerry” Girard.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday, October 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted.

Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Titusville Senior Center 714 E. Main Street Titusville, PA 16354.
