Ruth K. Goodwill, 94, of Titusville, passed away Tuesday morning January 9, 2024 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Ruth was born on January 14, 1929 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Alfred and Jessie Sterling Sopher. She was married to Robert D. Goodwill on July 9, 1945 at St. Walburga Church. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2011.
She and her late husband owned Goodwill Sheet Metal in Titusville for 64 years. She was also a domestic worker for 25 years in Titusville.
Ruth was a member of St. Titus Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, listening to country music, tending to her flower gardens, traveling with her husband, and was a volunteer at the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years.
Ruth is survived by her children, Doris Saeger of Marysville, OH, Patricia Bold and husband Tom of Titusville, Mary Hasbrouck and husband Tom of Titusville, and Christine Pergament and husband Bruce of Huntingdon, PA; 10 grandchildren, Steve and Bob Saeger, Tom Bold, Jr., Karen Lewis, Jennifer Kerr, Teri Beach, Dan and Kevin Hasbrouck, and Joe and Andrew Covell; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Everett Sopher and wife Gert of Hydetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Arlene Sopher and Doris Price; and three brothers, Leon Sopher, Hugh Sopher, and Kenneth Armstrong.
Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 12th at 11:00 AM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Christopher Barnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Titus Church, the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Dept., or to the charity of one’s choice.
