Thomas Foote Obituary

Thomas J. Foote, 30 of Pleasantville who was a beloved brother and friend chose to end his journey on this earth February 25, 2025.

Tommy's journey through life began June 6, 1994, in Meadville. He had a lifetime of experiences in just a few short years prior to being adopted through foster care into his real family. His parents, Darrell and Sylvia(Jean) Foote, who preceded him in death, would be upset at the notion of anyone referring to him as anything other than simply their child, but all of the love in the world cannot repair everything, and Tom's story is important.

As a child Tom found happiness in the great outdoors, embracing adventure with his carefree spirit. He had a remarkable ability to remember the little things that mattered —never forgetting a birthday and always trying to make those around him feel special. Even at a very young age, while struggling with his own mental health there was not a soul on this earth who Tom didn't have a smile to offer, an interest in speaking to or love in his heart for.

A 2013 graduate of Titusville High School, Tom pursued his passion for automotive repair through the Vo-tech program, where he found joy tinkering with cars. His love for mechanics reflected his curious mind and hands on approach to life.

He is survived by his brothers Charles Foote of Pittsburgh; Dustin Foote of Pittsburgh; Levi Foote of Titusville; Bo Foote of Pittsburgh; and sisters Tina Warner (David) of Pleasantville; Tammy Brockett (Chad) of Pleasantville; Kara Sosnowski (Tyler) of Franklin. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Brenda Bennet.

One person attempts suicide every 31 seconds, if talking about it, exposing it, shouting it from the rooftops, will help even one person find a way to talk about their pain, a difference can and must be made. To help others understand, we must reach out to family members, friends and strangers. Show kindness, openness to talk, and, more importantly, listen, see, and hear without judgment. If you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts or facing other mental health struggles, please reach out to 988 either through calling, texting, or chatting online.

A celebration of life for Thomas will be held on June 21st at 3 pm in the pavilion of the Shamburg Christian church.

Memorial contributions may be made directly to the funeral home or to any mental health, foster care or homelessness charity of your choosing.

The most important contribution you can make is next time someone is giving you statistics about these things, do not think of numbers, think of a young man who loved vinegar French fries and going to the fair to make himself sick eating too many deep-fried Oreos and whose family loved him and no longer has the opportunity to tell him that to his face.

We love you Tommy, we're so sorry we didn't help you in time but we promise to do better.
