Wanita C. Callen, 81, of Titusville, passed away Sunday morning October 15, 2023 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Wanita was born on December 29, 1941 in Franklin, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Leota Smith Carner. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Callen, on April 15, 2008.
Wanita was a member of the Bradleytown Evangelical United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary; a member of the PNA Club; a member of the American Legion and of the Moose Club. She enjoyed fishing, going for walks, berry picking, roller skating, playing bingo, traveling, listening to country music, playing cards, crocheting, being with her family and her pet dog Zoey.
Wanita is survived by the following children; Roxie Lara and husband Esteban of Plano, TX, Marion “Lennie” Callen, Carol Kilgore, Lois Roggenkamp and companion Bobby Caldwell, Nancy Shorts and husband Michael, Donna Callen, and Daryl Callen and companion Tammy Edwards, all of Titusville, Norma Jean Phillips and husband Nolan of Hydetown, and Steven Callen of St. Mary’s, PA; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Mark Callen; a grandson, David Martinez; and sisters, Susan Gigone, Janice Warring, and Alice Bursi.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday, October 19th from noon to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Jeff Sterling officiating.
Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
