Wendell D. Neely, 74, of Titusville, passed away Wednesday morning December 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Wendell was born on June 30, 1950 in Titusville, a son of the late Dale E. Neely and Alma A. Armstrong Neely Lefebvre. He was married to Kathleen Lefebvre on May 13, 1972.
Wendell was a graduate of Townville High School, class of 1968.
During his working career, he had been employed at the former Queen Cutlery, Quaker State in Titusville, and Buffalo Structural Steel. He had also been employed at Community Ambulance in Franklin and EmergyCare and Titusville Ambulance Service as a paramedic.
Wendell was a member of both the Bethel United Methodist Church and of the former Diamond United Methodist Church, where he had served as a lay leader, member of the choirs, and taught youth and adult Sunday School.
Wendell loved sports and he coached for over 20 years. He coached baseball, youth football, church softball league, and proudly founded the Bethel Baseball League. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hydetown Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Service as an firefighter and EMT for a number of years.
Wendell is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 52 years; two sons, Matthew Neely and wife Heather of Titusville and Brett Neely and wife Nicole of Townville; grandchildren, Sarah, Bree, Ty, and Ben Neely; a brother-in-law, Jack Lefebvre and wife Mary of Midway; a sister-in-law, Melissa Dami of McDonald; nephews, Jack Lefebvre and family of Ambridge, Doug Lefebvre and family of Midway, and Luke Dami of McDonald; and many close cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by infant sons, Ryan and Chad Neely; his sister, Connie Swarthout; his mother and father-in-law, Delores and John Lefebvre; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Dami and William Swarthout.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the former Diamond United Methodist Church, 1206 Meadville Road Titusville, PA 16354, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at which time a memorial service will be conducted with Pastor Jerome Alsdorf and Rev. Jude Urso officiating.
Private interment will be in Diamond Cemetery.
